Unique low height lighting solution for high visual comfort. Efficient and cost effective road lighting without poles
- High luminance and low glare for safe and comfortable road driving. Unique Thorn's FlatBeam® concept for glazing light with no glare (Ti <1%) at low height installation, comfortably underneath eyes' height of drivers.
- Grazing light with higher luminance to eliminate direct glare. Unique optical system avoiding any direct light to reach the eyes of the driver or rear-view mirrors. Low contrast design for enhanced visual comfort.
- Road lighting without poles with spacing up to 15m in single side and 20 m with opposite side installation. Compliant with EN 13201 requirements for M2/M3/M4 road classes. Uniformity without light or back light spill.
- Withstands harsh conditions and time : high corrosion protection suitable for coastal application, IK10, bowl hardened and scratch resistant, latest COB Gen. L90 70k hours. Suitable for ambiant temperature up to 40°C.
- Standard D4i driver for remote smart management, scalable with other networks thanks to Thorn's Urbasens ecosystem. Low lighting power density (DPI) <0,3 W/m² for high energy efficacy and limited environmental impact
- Bollard or stirrup variants to support many application cases where conventional pole lighting is not suitable or desired. Wide application range (briges, motorways, roads, railroad, airports, foggy weather, etc.)
Materials and Finish
Head and bollard : die-cast aluminium EN AC-44300 with <0,1% of Copper to drastically reduce the risk of corrosion.
Fasteners : tamper-proof stainless steel with Geomet® zink floated to avoid the risk of galvanic corrosion.
Suitable for costal application. C5 corrosion class according to ISO 9223.
Powder coating texturised light grey (GY) as standard (close to RAL9006)
Bowl : polycarbonate, coated with antiscratch against projections and spray paint resistant coating
Stirrup bracket : aluminium (3 mm thickness), withstands 50 kg of static load without affecting selected tilt angle.
Stirrup external IP66 gear box :
- PA6 with 30% glass fiber : exceptional mechanical properties, fully pre-wired and equipped with male quick connector to connect with ORUS Pro's head
- mounting bracket and tamper-proof arching bracket : aluminium (3 mm thickness)
Installation and Mounting
For optimum results, mounting height of the lamp has to remain below eye's height, ideally around 0,9m and offset should be 1-1,5m.
Refer to the installation instruction for further good practices.
The top of the lantern has to be parallel to the road surface and a 0° tilt of the unit can be assured using a spirit level thanks to the flat reservation on top of Orus Pro).
Bollard : available for 700 mm and 900 mm height variants
Gear components housed into the bollard into an IP66 box, equipped with quick connector for connection with ORUS Pro's head.
Access inside the bollard shaft after release of 2 tamper-proof allen screws and head removal.
M10 bolts not included.
Stirrup variant : can be installed on guardrails, concrete walls, side walks, road separators and facades.
90° rotating stirrup fixed through robust bracket and 2 x 6 bolts (not included).
IP66 external gear box is fully pre-wired and designed for through wiring via 2 cable glands as standard.
Installed with dedicated stainless steel bracket
Tamper proof arching bracket to avoid vandalism and unauthorised access to gear compartment.
