Thorn Lighting's range of over-the-counter products gets a vibrant new identity for 2015. Designed to grow and strengthen their wholesale business, they unveiled the new look for trade counters across the UK and Ireland last month.

 A number of wholesalers will be treated to eye-catching new POS merchandising, product packaging and new literature.

One of the most noticeable differences is that for the first time Thorn are using picture packaging on their streamlined portfolio of trade counter products. The picture packaging will be available on a number of products, starting with the recently launched Cetus LED.

Peter Denny, UK and Ireland Trade Sales Director, explains "In recent years the Thorn brand has lost its visibility in the wholesale market place. To get us back to where we belong we have embarked on a programme to provide an exciting image for packaging, trade counters, advertising, social media and events."

Graeme Ramage, Key Account Manager North adds "We have returned in 2015 with an eye catching and consistent trade identity which is great news for us and our wholesale partners. Over the years Thorn has been sorely missed when it comes to being noticed at the trade counter. With the inclusion of picture packaging, shelving accessories and numerous pieces of branded merchandise, all of our customers believe that this successful trade identity will play a crucial role in the process of strengthening our share of the trade lighting market."

Moreover, Jim Morgan, Edmundson Electrical Sighthill Manager says, "We recently renovated and subsequently doubled our trade counter size. The space is illuminated using Thorn's Omega LED 600x600 fittings and it is great to now have a striking Thorn section in a prominent position near the entrance. We hope to use the new trade identity to encourage Thorn sales and to strengthen our position as a major Thorn stockist."

Michelle Shield, Head of Design and Digital Publishing, Thorn Lighting, explains the thoughts behind the design "We wanted something that was completely new, bright and bold that reflects our approachability and our Fast, Simple and Affordable product offer."

It doesn't stop there either; CEE, Sweden and Austria have already implemented the new identity. During the year Thorn will be rolling the identity out in more countries for example in Germany.
